iPhone 4 jailbreak not released, AT&T iPhone exclusive end a positive, WiFi enabled iPhone closer to Chinese launch

In the world of jailbreaking Apple products Geohot is the man. Geohot has a jailbreak ready to go for the iPhone 4, but apparently won’t release the software because the release would just lead to users demanding the next step in the unlock cycle.

Reuters reports that if AT&T loses iPhone exclusivity early next year it won’t necessarily spell doom for the carrier. Reuters figures most people would not switch and the resulting decline in new users changing from carriers could be offset by less need for new infrastructure to support data demand.

The demand for the official iPhone in China and not been that great, mostly because the official handset lacks WiFi and is more expensive than gray market alternatives. The official iPhone with WiFi has reportedly cleared a hurdle to be offered in China with the device reportedly being granted a network access license in China last week.

Canoe Slalom App Review – It’s Splashing!

Not being a canoeist, the first thing that springs to my mind when talking about the narrow single-person boat is Deliverance, a film rather oddly described by some canoeing sites as ‘the ultimate canoe adventure movie!’  Well, if that’s the way canoeists describe Deliverance, then I don’t think I’d fit in very well down at [...]

iPhone 4 lands at Walmart, iPhone 4 pre-orders due day early, Apple location tracking

Some who pre-ordered the iPhone 4 are getting emails from Apple that show the handsets landing on the 23, a day before expected. This will have hoards of geeks waiting for the deliveryman like kids at Christmas.

Privacy advocates are up in arms after it was discovered that Apple is able to capture and share information about the location of an Apple computer or device with partners. An opt out for iAd was also discovered.

Walmart to sell iPhone 4 on June 24th launch

In previous years, Apple and AT&T have maintained exclusivity with iPhone launches; you had to wait in line at either an Apple retail outlet or an AT&T store to get your hands on a shiny new iPhone. This year however, Apple is trying something a bit different. CNet confirms that retail giant Wal-Mart, along with Best [...]
